Suitcase Theatre’s Drama Club

Where Imagination Comes to Life!

Suitcase Theatre Drama Club is a safe, nurturing space where children ages 6 to 10 discover the joy of performance while building confidence, character, and kindness. Week after week, you'll watch your child grow, both on stage and off.

From character creation to silly skits, puppets to singing, costumes to comedy, our young performers explore the full magic of theatre while developing skills that will serve them for a lifetime. If your child loves the spotlight or prefers behind the scenes, we will support them.

A final variety show after each term celebrates our success with family and friends!

Our program builds term by term and welcomes new students at any time with fresh skills  - while allowing returning students to deepen their craft. The lessons will be adapted to the specific students and their interests.

What Your Child Will Learn

Here are some of the topics we will explore:

  • Improv and Theatre Sports: Quick thinking, "yes and," status games, and scene building

  • Comedy and Clowning: Comic timing, physical comedy, and finding the funny

  • Voice and Singing: Projection, articulation, breath work, and ensemble singing

  • Movement and Physical Theatre: Mime, tableau, gesture, and stage presence

  • Character Work: Building characters, playing objectives, and staying in role

  • Ensemble and Stagecraft: Blocking, cues, entrances and exits, and teamwork

  • Storytelling and Script Work: Cold reads, monologues, dialogue, and narrative arc

  • Puppetry and Costume Play Bringing stories to life with props and creativity

  • Each term introduces new skills that build on previous learning, just like your child's confidence.
