  • Suitcase Theatre camp has brought entertainment and education since 2013. We have loved watching children grow up through our programs over the past decade.

Suitcase has kept alive the magic and wonder of one of Canada’s most beloved children’s programs - Mr. Dressup. We were founded by the creator of Mr. Dressup with a mission to spark imagination and play for his own grandchildren.

We estimate that over 200,000 children have participated in our camps, workshops, daytime programming, school performances and outreach programs.

Revenue raised at our camps helps to support our programs at ArtCity, Sick Kids and Ronald McDonald House. We believe in ‘playing’ it forward! Thank you for being a part of that vision.

  • Suitcase Theatre offers a unique hybrid of ALL of the arts to give your child a taste of everything.

We have a rotating schedule of creative stations including drama, dance, music, singing, dress-up, crafts and theatre sports for children aged 4-10. You have the option of half-day or full-day camp.

Many of our teachers are professionally trained performers and arts educators.

Please note children MUST be 4 years of age to attend our programs and must be toilet trained.

Covid protocols set by Toronto Public Health will be followed, and we will make sure the kids have plenty of time outside in the fresh air. Windows will remain open in our large open venue.

  • Our adult to camper ratio meets or exceeds the guidelines established by the Ontario Camping Association. As safety is always our primary concern, our staff are required to have police checks, CPR, and First Aid Level C training. On top of that, all the leaders are fully vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19.

As we are a local community program, we offer volunteer hours to our high school students. We have many campers come back as volunteers once they are in high school.

    REFUNDS

Camp refunds are charged a $35 admin fee per camper. Suitcase Theatre is unable to offer refunds or make-up days due to illness or other absences.

If your plans change, and you can no longer attend camp, you must let us know at least 7 days in advance of the start date for a full refund less the $35 admin fee. If you cancel your camp spot less than 7 days before the start date, we are unable to process a full refund and will offer a credit.

  • Suitcase Theatre will be following the guidelines set by Toronto Public Health. We take your children's safety extremely seriously. All of our staff are fully vaccinated and boosted.

All staff and campers will be washing and/or sanitizing hands between activities and art, drama and music stations

Our staff will be regularly sanitizing supplies and surfaces between uses.

If our child is sick, please keep them at home.

If we see a child with a persistent cough, runny nose, or if a fever develops, we will call you to come and get them from camp.

  • It is very important to the staff at Suitcase Theatre that every child has a safe, creative and fun experience at our programs. We firmly believe that every child has the right to creatively express themselves without fear. We take care in ensuring that our staff and volunteers treat all campers with respect and kindness, and we expect the same in return.

We will make every effort to work with children and parents to find a solution to any concerns should they arise. To help ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all campers, staff and volunteers, we have established the following approaches to discipline:

Minor incidents and disruptions will be dealt with at the time of the incident on a one-to-one level with the instructor and the child.

Disrespectful behaviour will result in the child being temporarily withdrawn from the group to discuss their behaviour with the instructor. Depending on the incident, parents may be notified and involved in solving the problem. If the behaviour continues, the child may be asked to leave the program without a refund.

Situations that involve leaving the group unescorted, verbal or physical abuse including threatening, bullying and discriminatory incidences, will result in the child being removed from the group to discuss the incident with the instructor. The parents will be notified immediately and the child may be asked to leave the program without a refund.

We appreciate an open and confidential discussion to help find the best way to successfully integrate your child into our programs should they have any special needs or concerns.

These policies help Suitcase Theatre provide a safe and fun environment for your child and their peers. We thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

  • We ask that you pack drinks, snacks and lunch every day. Suitcase Theatre camp is a strict nut-free program but the church is not a nut-free environment.

Wear runners, comfy clothes that you don’t mind getting messy and if your child wants to wear a costume - we would love that!

  • An email will be sent to all registrants the week before your camp session with additional information about drop-off, pick-up, what to pack etc.

We are so excited to welcome you!
