As the creator of Mr. Dress-Up, Canada's longest running children's television program and much loved by generations from coast to coast, I set out to create a theatre company with the same ethics and ease that Mr. Dress-Up has shared for over 30 years. I wanted to get back to my roots of live children's theatre and the idea of Suitcase Theatre was born. Every set, costume and prop is brilliantly engineered to be carried in one magical suitcase, making trips on the road and set-ups a snap.
Children's theatre is a wonderful land of magic and imagination: a place where young people can allow their minds to create and be part of a land where suspense and laughter live side-by-side. The people behind Suitcase Theatre are committed to providing programming that promotes good values and joy so we can model its importance for young people. I am energized by the passion our team possesses and am so very fortunate to share it with them.
Our latest production, The Friend Ship, is a musical that will leave you and your children humming and toetapping for days and weeks. The wonderful cast, original music and delightful songs carry lifelong lessons of sharing and caring.
Please come and set sail with us on The Friend Ship!
All aboard!
